Fire Equipment Upgrade Project at Hefei Specialist Hospital

2024-09-18 Visits:70

As a comprehensive medical institution integrating healthcare, scientific research, and education, Hefei Specialist Hospital recently launched a comprehensive and precise systematic upgrade of its firefighting equipment to fully enhance its initial fire suppression capabilities, in line with the principle of "prevention first, combining prevention with firefighting."

Enhanced Protection for Critical Areas:
In the hospital’s core power and nerve centers—the Power Center, Main Control Center, and Electrical Distribution Rooms—we deployed 53 units of 25KG wheeled dry powder fire extinguishers. These devices offer a large extinguishing agent capacity, strong force, and relatively convenient mobility. They provide powerful support for staff to suppress developing electrical or solid-fuel fires, effectively preventing the spread of flames and safeguarding the power source of life-support systems.

Standard Protection for Public and Support Areas:
In public and support areas such as lobbies, corridors, offices, and storage rooms, we strategically placed 232 units of 4KG portable dry powder fire extinguishers. Dry powder extinguishers are suitable for combating Class A (solid), Class B (liquid), Class C (gas), and electrical fires, offering broad applicability and relatively flexible storage conditions. They serve as a reliable choice for covering conventional fire risks, ensuring both the density and accessibility of fire equipment in public areas.

Safe Protection for Patient and Precision Areas:
In core medical areas with extremely high requirements for personnel safety and equipment cleanliness, such as patient wards, operating rooms, and examination rooms, we innovatively deployed 454 units of 4KG water-based fire extinguishers. Water-based extinguishers are characterized by being non-toxic, pollution-free, and having good insulation properties. The mist-like water spray they emit can effectively reduce smoke concentration and on-site temperature while extinguishing fires, creating more favorable conditions for patient evacuation. Additionally, the spray is easy to clean after use, posing minimal risk of damage to expensive medical instruments—making it perfectly suited to the special needs of medical environments.
